About Higher Source Sites

Higher Source Sites is my web development and website care business.
I’m Ed Rosenthal, a programmer and longtime web developer based in
Corvallis, Oregon.

My background goes back well before WordPress. I’ve worked as an
Oracle and Informix database administrator and as a programmer at
Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. Along the way I’ve worked with C, Pascal,
Unix, CICS, Fortran and COBOL. I also worked with an NIH cancer research
program, helping transfer CDC research data into Unix systems.

These days, I put that technical background to work building, improving,
protecting and maintaining websites, particularly WordPress sites. That
experience also means I’m comfortable working beyond the WordPress dashboard
when a problem involves hosting, databases, servers or code. Some clients
need a new site. Others need help with an existing site that has become slow,
insecure, outdated, difficult to manage, or simply mysterious.

I prefer practical solutions and direct communication. You work with me,
rather than being passed from salesperson to project manager to technician.

A Little Beyond the Keyboard

I’ve lived and worked in Rochester, Parris Island, Hawaii, San Francisco,
Berkeley, Petaluma, and Santa Rosa, and now call Corvallis, Oregon home.

While living in Santa Rosa, my wife Pamela and I helped with North Bay
Beagles dog rescue. The rescue is now in the rear-view mirror, but our
household still includes a rather substantial canine delegation.
