Building Hero Prospect

It’s really fun to build a new website from scratch, with only an idea to begin with.
(Almost as much fun as writing a sentence that end with a  preposition), a web site begins with a business proposition.

The proposition in this case is the mutual benefit of candidates and agencies who want to ( maybe ) hire them.

HeroProspect – i originally typed HeroProposition, lol.

And its the first time i used Gravity Kit, along with Gravity Forms. I’ve used gravity forms since way back when,

but GK never. It really was a solution to the whole proof of concept thing. And also RCP, restrict content Pro. So much so i really enjoyed giving them the best remarks ever made when they asked.

Beginning with a amazingly lengthy pdf questionnaire ( 20 pages of questions) for a candidate, and this is for working towards a job as a cop, a law officer, a policeman. Now in this era of ICE who have likely no background and who are hired with a bonus that most people on planet earth don’t earn in a year, and the legally unrestricted and pardonable behaviors that we have seen, i don’t and almost don’t approve of what i am building, but i am fairly sure we have made the site showing and tending to the higher ground and furthering the ethically unchallenged candidates. That is what i was aiming for, or at least learned that was what i wanted.

The process was always unfolding, so many lessons along the way:

Flexibility of software was needed but available. If i needed tech support it was there. Fortunately it was a bit intuitive for me, so it was rare that i made a call for it.
I used a firefox extension Wave, to ensure good accessibility, which now i am using for every build, and every revision of a page. That i think is another necessary tool, another arrow in the quiver.

Agencies, to view candidate’s answers: to be seen, must be by approved by me, but they start by getting a free look at preliminary data, then after signing up they get the real data they need: everything under the sun.

I built this site practically pro bono. It almost is self creating in its interactions. A lot of code, a lot of gravity forms api calls, and css is being used throughout the site. For organizational purposes another plugin ‘css and js’  was  helpful.
